chris pappanNorthern Michigan University's UNITED Conference - Sept 23, 2013
I will be giving a presentation about my work, on Monday Sept 23rd at NMU's UNITED conference in Marquette MI.
UNITED stands for Uniting Neighbors in the Experience of Diversity and is Northern Michigan University's annual celebration of diversity, culture and community.
I will also have works on exhibit in the student gallery.

Suaganash muralSauganash mural dedication, Sunday Sept 8th
The official dedication ceremony of the Suaganash mural that I helped create with the Chicago Public Art Group, was on Sunday Sept 8th at 4pm. If you're in the Chicagoland area and you would like to see the mural, it is at Peterson Ave and Kostner, under the bike trail overpass.

Re-Riding History From the Southern Plains to the Matanzas Bay, an exhibition to chronicle the relocation and imprisonment of Plains Indians to Fort Marion in St. Augustine FL, which gave rise to the military methods of “Indian assimilation,” and led to the founding of the Carlisle Indian Industrial School, Pennsylvania in 1879.

Catch the Octopus Dreams exhibit before it closes on Sept 21st at 516 ARTS in Albuquerque. This group exhibition, featuring 36 contemporary Native artists, has been touring Russia, and is now stateside before moving on to Tokyo!
Chris and his wife, Debra Yepa-Pappan, are among the many talented artists. Debra still has a few prints available for purchase at the gallery!
